My Wife/Husband Is Such A......

I read this today and just loved it:
"Instead of complaining about our mates, we need to be committed to the completion of that which is lacking in their lives" (Hawkins 1991,64)
How often do we find it easier to whine about our partner's short comings, instead of helping them out with changing or bettering themselves? We are supposed to help our partner, to strengthen them and build them up. How often do we actually accomplish this?

About a Book

I'm just finishing up a book I started last week titled: "They like Jesus but not the church: Insights from emerging generations" by Dan Kimball. All in all the book is excellent for getting the reader to really start thinking about what is going on in churches today in America. I would recommend this book to anyone, but especially to those involved in ministry within a church.
Kimball asks some tough questions in this piece, and at times I found myself really nodding my head with some of his conclusions. While not everything in the book will likely resonate with the reader, the subject matter will engage the reader to think more about the topics.
So if your looking for a fascinating and thought provoking book, and you care about the condition that the Church finds itself in today, I would recommend picking up a copy.

Well this will be my second go around with blogging. The first time never really went anywhere, and perhaps this attempt won't either.
